Joe and his wife Kathy have advanced the mission of the CF Foundation with unwavering dedication for more than four decades not only in their home state of Massachusetts with events like the Hot Dog Safari and the Joey Fund Film Premiere but also on the national stage. As the National Chairman of the Milestones I and Milestones II campaigns (2005-2015), Joe and hundreds of volunteers raised more than $257 million over a 10-year period to accelerate our search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. The first two Milestones campaigns provided extra and much-needed funds that fueled the Drug Development Pipeline and accelerated the approval of four modulators including Trikafta. Today, Joe is chairing Milestones III: Driven by a Dream, a campaign that seeks to build on the first two Milestones campaigns by focusing not only on major giving today, but also on legacy giving for tomorrow. Joe served on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and has been an advisor to executive leadership for many years. He has played a pivotal role in helping launch the CF Caucus in both the US House of Representatives and US Senate through his friendship with long-time friend Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts. Joe has been recognized with both the National Breath of Life Award and the Dream Big Award.
